Jesse Sherburne Studio
Jesse Sherburne’s research and professional practice exists in the interstice between art and design. It is primarily focused on an investigation of hybridity that is currently leading to challenging new work in object, interior and Visual communication design as well as the realms of installation, performance, and relational art. Sherburne trained in Art and Design at the University of Alberta and he holds a Masters of Industrial Design and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinction. Sherburne has run a professional design practice since 1999, with the focus on transformative interior design and contemporary product and visual communications design. Sherburne has also worked as a Director of Design and Marketing for a number of companies including Canada’s largest social network, Nexopia.com. As head of the design and marketing departments, Sherburne oversaw the development of designs for interiors, trade show booths and display settings, as well as brand image redevelopments, unique promotional materials and special event designs. A recent (Spring 2006), conceptually based installation project entitled Art Bar, was exhibited at the Art Gallery of Alberta and set the previous attendance records for the gallery as well receiving national press coverage. Most recently, Sherburne was included in an upcoming publication on relational art.
